In rural Tanzania, many girls cannot afford disposable sanitary pads. As a result, they often miss school during menstruation — some for up to a week each month. This causes them to fall behind academically, and some drop out entirely. KICE Foundation's Reusable Sanitary Pads Project tackles this silent crisis head‑on.
We produce and distribute free, washable pads that last for up to 12 months. Each girl receives a kit with 5 pads, a waterproof pouch, soap, and a menstrual health booklet. Alongside the kits, we run educational sessions at schools to break taboos and empower both girls and boys with knowledge.
Each pad is made from absorbent, quick‑dry fabric that lasts for at least one year of regular use.

Local women tailors cut, sew, and package the pads in a clean, supervised workshop.
We deliver kits directly to schools and community centers across Kahe Ward.
Every distribution includes a training session so girls know how to use and care for the pads.
