Empowering girls to stay in school through access to safe, eco-friendly sanitary pads and menstrual hygiene education.
Menstruation and access to sanitary pads are challenges that significantly hinder the girl child's access to continued quality education. Girls who do not have access to pads miss three to four class days each month, adding up to 30-40 missed school days per year.
With three sewing machines and the help of two tailors, we produce reusable pads using locally available materials. Through a donation of $6.50, one girl receives a bag with 7 reusable pads that she may use for one year, plus a flier with menstrual hygiene information.
Every girl deserves the dignity and confidence to stay in school.
